Text fail

I sent a text message through my phone for the first time tonight. I like to think of myself as technically savvy. I work in tech, I’ve done integration, system support, and some programming. Texting would seem like a fairly common task, but I’d kind of prided myself on the idea never participating in the medium.
I had all three boys tonight while Angie was at a meeting, and something urgent came up. Not urgent enough to call her, but urgent enough to get a message to her as soon as she’d be out of her meeting. Texting seemed like the perfect medium.
Breaking out my non-Droid, non-Apple phone that was almost cutting edge about eight years ago, I ventured into the text messaging menu of my phone. Took me a couple of tries, it seemed awkward that I had to select a menu option to change capitalization modes, and the space didn’t quite look right, but I finally got it typed out and sent.
To whoever has the messaging contact of “Can.you.stop.at.HT.for.some.frosty.beverages?”, please know that I was able to get a hold of my wife eventually.
